Simple Expense

  • On screen number keys
  • Title selector (You can just select description from previous descriptions)
  • Manage up to 10 Credit cards
  • Show paid / unpaid status of each credit Card
  • Sum calculation
  • Password Protected
  • Auto Lock
  • Export to MS Excel file

Requirements

  • PalmOS version over 3.1 (I tested with visor deluxe and Palm Vx)
  • If you are using Palm Desktop 4.1, You cannot export entries to excel file.

Password Screen

  • Type password at the field and tap lock icon.
  • To disable password,set password as blank at password setting screen.
  • This Application doesn't have encryption algorithm. if somebody intentionally hack your database, one can get your expense information.This password protection is just against curious friends or family members.

List screen

  • To make new item press new button.
  • If current category is all, credit card or cash selector apears.
  • Set title by tapping small triangle button right of title field.
    (you can set number of previous titles at preference screen. To disable this feature just set number of previous titles to 0)
  • Change date of item by tapping date field
  • Set Item type by tapping rightmost plus / minus mark
  • Mark Paid credit card item by tapping rightmost checkbox
  • To edit credit card names press Edit credit from top right category list or option menu. You can create up to 10 cards category.

  • If you tap amount field numeric button apears at bottom of screen. by tapping the key board you can enter numbers

  • You can scroll list with scroll hardware button.

To Export to MS Excel file

  • copy "maptable.xls" to palm desktop folder (usually c:\palm\)
  • copy "SIMEX.XLT" to palm desktop templete folder (usually c:\palm\TEMPLETE)
  • If you don't use palm's default Expense, just overwrite it. or copy original files to some other folder
  • From SimEx menu tap item->export to Expense DB

  • After export, Hot Sync your handheld
  • From your palm desktop press Expense button
  • Select SimEx from category and Press Options and select SIMEX again

  • press create.. and you will get this file

  • Without the maptables.xls and SIMEX.XLT you can still create report, but it will look weired.
  • You can create you own template by editting the xlt and xls file.
